A man who isn't convinced about the Holy Ghost ought to go out and plow corn; he ought not to be in the pulpit at all.
[The Church in the book of Acts] believed in God the Father, and they believed in God the Son, and they believed in God the Holy Spirit. Not only did they believe in Him creedally, but He was also everything to them. God was at the center of everything. They gathered unto the Lord; they worshiped the Lord; they obeyed the Lord. The Lord was everything to them!
But to a great many churches-perhaps most churches-God is no longer necessary. I think that this is one of the most awful things.
