Two verses I am thankful for:
Psalm 130:3–4 (NLT)
3 LORD, if you kept a record of our sins,
who, O Lord, could ever survive?
4 But you offer forgiveness,
that we might learn to fear you.
We could never have hope, if it weren't for God's great mercy on us as sinners. If we did not have the ability to go to Jesus through faith and ask for forgiveness, what a miserable, temporary existence in this world. No one in the entire world has any hope apart from the precious Lord Jesus.
God, because HE is good, because HE chooses, offers mercy to us for ALL of our sins...if we will simply agree with Him, that we need His forgiveness. Once we truly receive that forgiveness in our hearts, we WILL fear Him...the true fear of God. Not being scared of Him, but having a holy awe, and love, and respect...because we know we have sinned, do not deserve His mercy, and that Jesus died because of OUR sins.
You cannot be a true recipient of God's forgiveness and not fear Him. You cannot receive His peace in your heart, the peace He gives after you truly believe, and not praise Him. You cannot truly understand how He loves you and not love Him.
I love Jesus more than anything, and anyone, because He is life. He is so good, so kind, so gracious...and I thank Him that He gives us sense to honor Him after He gives us sense to ask for forgiveness. Praise Him for His awesome grace!
